Nördlingen

Hello everyone~~

I just got back from a 2-week trip in England and Germany and while I was in Germany, I was able to go to Nördlingen! It is, as most of you know, the town that Kinkan/Gold Crown town is heavillyyy based on. I was staying in Munich with a friend so it wasn't too far by train. (Thank you Jallou for helping me with the trains~~though they changed the schedule xD;;) I know pics of this town have been shared here before but ahhh I wanted to share mine, regardless!

I probably should have refreshed my memory with some episodes of PT before the trip but I stumbled upon some of the more notable landmarks that you see in the show.

Walking along the wall of the town. It still has a pretty in-tact city wall.

:DD

This was one of the things I really wanted to find. It's kind of tucked in the corner to the left side on the building you see below.

A bird nest on one of the buildings. xD I want to say its man-made but the birds are using it.

St. Georg's church, which is really at the heart of the town.

Inside the church. One of my favorite things about southern Germany was the ridiculous amount of amazing churches.

My friend and I climbed to the top of "Daniel" (which is what they named the church tower) and it was pretty crazy tiring. (Like most of the towers I climbed these past 2 weeks!) These signs were posted every once in a while to let you know how far up you were. They weren't reassuring at all. :I Once you got to the almost-top, you can pay 2,50 Euros to go to the rest of it. I think they should have paid me just for climbing it. Mmmhmm.

But the view was worth it!

I promise I did not write this! xD; But I found it funny.

Same with this one...

This is coming down the Daniel. (Going down a bunch of little wooden steps was freaky.)

The bells inside the tower. There are four but you can only see one really well here.

There were a few of these all red buildings and I wasn't sure if this was the one in the anime or not. I want to say it is but...

This fountain near it kind of weirded me out, though. .___.

There were these fake crows in some of the windows, probably put there to keep birds away. Iiii found it amusing. 8D

And that finishes what I had. Hope you liked looking through them! While the town is small (and...kind of eerily quiet on a weekday except for one street) you can easily get lost once you step off the city wall and walk into the streets. I wish I could have explored more but we needed to catch a train back to Munich before it got too late anddd it was kind of chilly that day so I'm glad we left before it got too dark.
I bought a little duck statue in one of the shops. It was pretty much required of me as a PT fan I think. 8D;

Oh! As a fun side note. I also visited two castles in Hohenschwangau (southwest Bavaria--pretty close to the Austrian border--and it means like Swan County) and there are swan motifs EVERYWHERE. Images of Lohengrin appear a decent amount in Neuschwanstein Castle since the theme of that castle is Wagner's operas. This was pretty far from Nordlingen but I'd thought it would be appropriate to share nonetheless. xD

Thanks for looking!

(I actually have no idea what to tag this post, mods! I'm sorry. D:)
