[identity profile] serika-san.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] tutufans
And I have returned to make up all of my lost week's time of no community involvement bearing art and to further a question/discussion I had posted before I left.

So...Who's still interested in doing the Princess Tutu Roleplay? I know it's been a week, but I'm still excited about the idea, personally. I noticed no one further posted on anything for discussions on plot and such, so here we go: It seems the general agreement from the few people that gave opinions on it was that we do a sort of series continuation with the roleplay. Would that be alright? So how shall we do it? Let's get to brainstorming and get this going! :D Reply with any and all questions, ideas, thoughts, whatever you have to say on the matter. ^^

And now for my art. Yes, I know. Art again. When do I ever quit? I had a weird idea in my head before I left, partially thanks to reading Matsuri Hino's little pirate ship-based one-shot manga thing (forgot the name of it and too lazy to look it up XD; But I love her art style to death. You might recognize her name from mangas such as Meru Puri and Vampire Knight, both of which are excellent shoujo manga, in my opinion). However, the idea to stick the PT characters into pirate apparel and such didn't come until weeks after I read the manga, so I worked on it while I was out in Seattle (where I had absolutely no references to work off of and no internet connection to help XD;), so I hope you can pardon anything that might seem weird. I'm not knowledgeable about pirates. ^^;;

Anyhow, enough blabbering. On to the sketches~~~!

I scanned these in the order I drew them, so first up is Ahiru. X3 I think she makes an absolutely adorable pirate and I had loads of fun with her outfit. Please ignore the crappy hand. I hid the other one because I can. And as you can tell, these are still sort of following my style for the PT crew, which is what I will probably commonly use from now on, instead of the strictly-following-anime style. Anyway, I thought Ahiru would be kind of spunky as a pirate and probably quite energetic (and just as clumsy). I was almost tempted to draw her jumping onto Fakir's back, but that might look kind of silly. XD;  I also kept the bandana idea I used for her in the cleaning girl sketch from Running Ink, because I think it really suits her. ^^ And if you can't tell, her boots are ripped on the ends and her toes are showing. XD

And now for Fakir. Being the dork I am about hair, I wanted to put his down, but not completely. So I sorta tied a band around his head (which kind of makes him look like a well-dressed bandit? XD;) and left his hair kind of leaking over the top of it and from below. Yup. No ponytail for this Fakir. As for his clothing, I apologize if it looks rather...dorky weird. I was going to try another sketch of him in a more rugged outfit that showed part of his scar (which I may still do later on), but this stands for now. And I know his legs look kind of funky and I had no references of Lohengrin's sword, so I did what little I could from memory. ^^;;; And wow, he's tall. o_O; Not that I ever draw him short anyway. I don't know if pirates would or wouldn't wear something like this, but I think it kind of suits him in a strange way. Again, please ignore hands, legs, weird feet/boot things...yeah. Also, he and the two following might look a little smaller than the Ahiru one, because stupid photobucket shrunk my pictures.  Oh - And the original sketch of this had him wearing an eye-patch, but it looked horribly stupid, so I took it out. XD;;

Rue surprised me yet again. Though she may not look much like a pirate, I think she turned out pretty well and I think her outfit really suits her, without being too revealing. I figured this kind of outfit would suit Rue much better, as opposed to the borderline-tomboyish style that I drew Ahiru's apparel in. You're perfectly welcome to disagree, though. ^^; And yes, I sorta gave her half-fishnet stockings of sorts (and another small part of the same pattern on her arms), short cute little boots, and I tied a bandana-thing around her waist. She's also sporting a lot of jewelry on her neck and arms. And if you haven't noticed it, I decided to give both her and Ahiru daggers as opposed to swords. I thought the two of them would be particularly more agile than the men, and thus rely on speed if needed. Anyway, I'm actually pretty happy with her pose. I think it shows her confidence and elegance in a manner that she might carry herself if she were a pirate (and considerably older). Yes, I still think despite the change from ballet to pirate, Rue would try to carry an air of feminine dignity. That's personal opinion. :P

And finally...Mytho. I know, I know. The first thing you'll notice is that...he doesn't look like Mytho much. XD;; And he also kind of looks like he's drugged with that expression... His outfit style is similar to Fakirs, in which it follows a sort of pattern on many of the articles of his attire, as well as his sword (Sorry, but I wasn't even going to try the Prince's sword for this, especially without a reference). I also realize his pose is...very strange. But I have to keep trying different poses and things if I want to improve, so I just keep at it anyway. He's also sporting one of those headbands because I think those huge pirate hats are not only hard to draw, but look ridiculous. Maybe Drosselmeyer could pull one off, but none of these four as far as I'm concerned because I think it looks good on him. And I guess he's leaning against a....bar maybe? XD; That would explain his drunk expression. Also, you may notice his outfit (and Fakir's, to some extent) reflects the style of dress in PT a little bit (with the ruffled shirts, long sleeves, puffed necktie things). Anyway, despite his very strange leg and foot positions, I think he turned out rather nicely.

....And as a bonus and something I sorta did for fun, I stuck these all together and resized them to fit with each other, and sort of made a one-picture shot out of these four (courtesy of Photoshop). XD Mytho ended up kind of looking like he was checking Rue out. XD;;; And I think they actually work really well in this setting together and I believe they actually do kind of...fit (better than I thought they might, anyway). And yes, I realize Rue has somehow gotten quite tall, but I think that suits her, as well. Furthermore, this is pretty tiny cause it had a huge width, which Photobucket had to downsize to at least 800. :/ But I think it's still effective for putting them on the same plane, despite the resize.

So...That does it, for now. I know this was really weird with pirates and everything, but Halloween is coming, so I'll just use that as an excuse! XD;

Any and all feedback is most welcome and appreciated, as always. Hope you enjoy! And definitely hope to hear back on this RP idea, too!
