Hey there! I was inspired by the previous post, and have decided to share two PT-themed poems of my own. I wrote them quite awhile ago, but never felt comfortable posting them before.
The first is about Mytho, from Ahiru's point of view, and titled Little Star.
Little star,
You seem so fragile and so cold,
A brittle bit of silver dressed in gold.
Faint glitt'ring point of distant light
Can you see me?
Little raindrop,
Falling, swift and soft as dancer's feet
Tinkling like sad bells, so light and sweet,
A sound so full of heartbreak and delight.
Can you hear me?
Little snowflake,
Soft as lace, more fragile still
Drifting slowly past my window sill.
Chip of ice, so cold and white
Can you feel me?
Little bird,
The smallest speck against the sky
So much life unlived, so soon to die.
You sing a silent song, so dark, so bright.
Come to me.
Little prince,
The humblest vessel for a mighty heart.
A soul that splintered and was torn apart.
Reach for me, O fallen knight,
Let me save you.
And the second is Lament, again about Mytho, but this time from Rue's POV.
I broke you open and I watched you weep:
Forgive me dearest, for though I love in vain
And though my love can only bring you pain
None before has felt a love more true and deep.
You are too perfect for these hands to keep
But I would die without you, love, so you'll remain
Lying here with me forever in my dark domain
Let the world fall down around us as we sleep.
You do not love me, sweet, and never will.
I've wounded you too cruelly, too deeply to repent.
The lullaby I sang before becomes my sore lament.
Dark has been the night, now it grows darker still
For you are leaving, love, and with you goes the dawn.
I am alone: all life, all love, all light has gone.
Hope you enjoy!
