This year marks the first year of the American Anime Awards, which are being filmed by ADV to appear on their Anime Network, the votes are being tabulated by ICv2(a trade publication that monitors trends in anime, manga, comics and sci-fi), and will be held at this year's New York Comic Con. There's been some concern that ADV may be too involved for a fair process, and you can read up on some of that here, for anyone who wants to hear what the concerns are and some answers to them! Although I think the chiefmost complaints are ballots and categories with errors, and a dissastisfactory category system.
Among the many nominees, is Princess Tutu, both for the show itself, as well as Chris Patton's performance as Fakir.
