[identity profile] ingvild.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] tutufans
Here we are again! The last post can be found here. Please help with everything I've missed, especially external references (that is, to something outside the story itself - music, fairy tales, etc.)

Subtitle: Sleeping Beauty: Panorama

Opening narration:
Once upon a time, a man died.
His story was interrupted, and the prince lost his heart, and with it also lost the gentle feeling with which he treated people, and the memories of his gallant fight. And then, the pieces of the prince's heart, which were scattered throughout the village, searching for a place to go, settled down in those hearts that had a crack in them.
Some of those people whose hearts were possessed, ended up having their own stories thrown in disarray.

Note: Again, this is the fansub version. The official version would be accepted and edited into the main post with gratitude.
Edit: Official version
Once upon a time, there was a man who died.
The story was interrupted, and along with his heart, the prince lost his kindness towards people and even his memories of having fought bravely.
And scattered throughout the town, the shards of the prince's heart sought places to settle and found their way into people's heart who had voids in them.
Among those who were possessed by the shards were some who ended up making their own tales go awry.

Heart shard: Loneliness

Again, here is the music analysis. This is the last one currently on that page, so after this, I'll have to write something up (from the document helpfully provided me last week).

Note that this is the first time Ahiru/Duck realises that it really happened in a story, and also the first time it's hinted that Mytho breaking his heart was in the story (rather than it happened once the prince and the raven left the story). Note also the music: "Aquarium", from Saint-Saƫn's The Carnival of the Animals. This comes back when Mytho, Rue and Fakir discuss Princess Tutu at the end, when Ahiru/Duck realises that Tutu was a story as well. Now, what is it that's typical of aquariums? They're made of glass, so people can look in.

The title of the book is Prinz und Rabe.

The first appearance of Pique and Lilie's scary faces - at a distance.

Edel says: "Reality has a shy nature." Understatement of the year.

The restaurant owner is Ebine (does she have a different name in the dub?) Ebi apparently means shrimp or lobster. Aquatic theme again (goes with "Aquarium").

Ebine's music is "Habanera" from Carmen. The lyrics include something that can be translated as "If you don't love me, I love you, and if I love you, keep guard of yourself". Here. Note Ebine's costume compared to Carmen's.

The first appearance of Fakir's Convenient Horse (always there when he needs it!).

Interesting, how cuttin off the Polovetsian Dances where they do make them sound more omnious than they would have otherwise.

Ahiru/Duck thinks that she and Mytho are in a reenactment of "Hansel and Gretel", which of course turns out not to be the case.

Sleeping Beauty: Two things. First, the way Tutu protects Mytho while she confronts Ebine, with a giant plant thing and him asleep. Second, Ebine's feelings have been asleep, and once they wake up, they're beautiful.

There you go. Knock yourselves out, and tune in next week!
