For the first fanfic contest, themed Edgar Allan Poe, I decided to work The Masque of Red Death into PT. And what better way than with Kinkan's own plague, that of the omnipresent ravens that lurk on buildings, flock around battles, and occasionally tear people to pieces, told through the eyes of Raetsel? So:
Within the Shadow of the Ebony Clock
Scenario: from pre-canon (before the attack on Fakir's parents) to the beginning of episode 25. Everything fits plausibly within canon, although there are added details and such.
Characters: Focused on Raetsel and how the ravens shaped her world, with Fakir, Mytho, Raven!Mytho, Charon, and Hans as well
Warnings: Talk about death, angst, and scary imagery near the end. Nothing that happens doesn't happen in PT, though.
Link:
(I was ten when someone first spoke the word to me. Not whispered, not mouthed, but “Don’t go anywhere there’s ravens,” from my mother’s pursed lips.)
